There will be some telltale signs to look for if you think you may be experiencing septic tank failure.

Some of the more obvious signs to check for if you think your septic system may be failing would be pooling or standing water over or near the drain field or in your basement if you have one. Bright stripes of green grass growing over the drain field could also be an indication that something is wrong. A strong odor emitting from the area of your drain field or septic tank could also be an indication that something is wrong. If you notice any of these things taking place you should contact a professional septic system company to inspect and possibly clean or repair your system.
